Performing Arts Audition and Selection Process:
Step 1
Complete an application form – download here or apply online through the Wakefield Common Application Process….
Step 2
Applicants shortlisted for audition
Step 3
Group Audition stage
- Auditionees will spend a day in the life of CAPA
- Watch a performance by current students
- Meet the teachers
- Tour the facilities
- Drama Audition
- Take part in a drama workshop audition session
- Singing Audition
- participate in a Singing workshop audition session
- Dance Audition
- participate in Contemporary/Jazz workshop
- Individual interview
After Step 3, auditionees will receive written confirmation of whether they have been successful or not. Some auditionees may be recalled to a second audition stage (step 4)
Step 4
Auditionees to prepare and perform a short solo performance in an artform of their choice and sit an interview
Production Arts Interview and Selection Process:

What we are looking for:
Performing Arts:
5 A*-C grades at GCSE equivalent
Passion and enthusiasm for the arts
Outstanding skill in at least one art form, with potential and a desire to improve in all three artforms (Dance, Drama, Singing)
Hardworking and committed attitude
Production Arts:
5 A*-C grades at GCSE equivalent
Passion and enthusiasm for the arts
Outstanding skill in at least one area of Production Arts , with potential and a desire to improve in all areas of Production Arts
